Fisher Middle School Cast Party, Blossom Hill MPR, Los Gatos, CA

The very next day I was in Los Gatos for Fisher Middle School's Cast Party after their final performance of OZ. The party was Hollywood themed, but after the red carpet entrance the dancefloor was decked out with pieces of the yellow bricked road!

Now what do you get when you pack a huge MPR with a bunch of musical middle schoolers? That's right, lots and lots of crazy hyper energy!

I had just invested in a new DMX controller from Blizzard Lights and I wanted to test it out to see what it could do... I was not disappointed, and neither were the kids. They danced their hearts out! Then we got them to sit for a few speeches and awards and they were able to give a big thank you to all the volunteers who assisted in the production.

But shortly after the speeches, it was back to dancing! They really tore it up... literally. By the end of the night the yellow brick road was torn to shreds, and only the tape remained. So rad.

I always love the opportunity to DJ for schools, and it was nice to see some familiar faces of kids and families that I have DJed for in the past. Everyone had a great time, except for maybe the clean up crew...

Well to be completely honest I am WAYYY behind on blog posts. But I do have a cloud drive full of pictures from my events, so I want to share them when I can.

This event was in early March for Stanford's MSx Master of Science program graduates. It was held at the Coupa Cafe restaurant located on the Stanford Golf Course. They were an amazingly fun group with tons of energy, and they went all out for the 80s party! Their coordinator Jacquie found me through the wonders of the internet, saw this blog, my yelp reviews and decided I was a good fit. She said that it would be a big plus if I had a costume, so I dressed up as a an 80s skater and my assistant came as painter Bob Ross. It's kinda nice to dress down for a change!

There was really no schedule to follow or planned events, besides at one point we turned all the lights on for a group picture. The rest of the time it was dancing, dancing, and more dancing to the hits of the 80s. Being an 80s child myself (just barely... '88), I was happy to keep them coming. I'll let the pictures do the talking.

Disclaimer: I'm still learning how to use my camera in low light, so I apologize for the blurriness!

Thanks so much to Stanford MSx for having me, and congratulations to the graduates and their bright futures!

Door Prizes

February for me has often been a month of weddings, anniversaries, and valentines dances. But instead of any of those, I got to DJ on the night of Chinese New Year. For Audi of Stevens Creek, they weren't just celebrating the new year, they were celebrating being the #1 Audi Dealership in the nation two years in a row!

They celebrated at the beautiful La Riconada Country Club in Los Gatos. The staff was very attentive, and made sure I got all the assistance I needed. It was a warm night for February, so for the beginning of the evening we got to enjoy open doors to the patio seating area.

Everyone was there, from the maintenance guys to the delivery drivers, the GM, the sales team and even some of the executives from the Penske Automotive Group. After a few speeches thanking everyone for their hard work and effort, the GM wanted to honor the employees with gifts! Every employee got two raffle tickets, one to win anything from an LG flat-screen, a Go-Pro Hero4, XBox, or Beats by Dre headphones as well as several different gift certificates. The other ticket was the drawing to win a year lease for a new Audi. Last year they raffled off one lease, since they repeated this year they decided to raffle off two! Check out the video on my instagram, @djjeffty.

After the raffle, the celebration continued onto the dance floor. La Riconada had what looked like a brand new dance floor, but these Audi employees weren't about to let that stop them from showing their stuff!

Thanks so much to Audi Stevens Creek GM Tony Newell for having me! Here's to a threepeat!!

Align Technology, Levi's Stadium, Santa Clara, CA

At A Glance -
Type of Event: Employee Appreciation Party
Number of Guests: 150-200
Preferred Genres: Top 40/Latin/Hip-hop
Load In/Load Out: 4:30pm/11:00pm
Equipment: 400W Mains, Mixer/Controller, Microphones, Light Tree/Uplights/Dancelights

In September I DJed at the Santa Cruz Civic Center for the FashionArt Fashion Show (FashionArt). A connection from that event contacted me for this amazing privilege: Come DJ for Align Technology's Employee appreciation party held at BNY Mellon Club West on the field level of the 49ers new Levi's Stadium! Coming from a family of 49ers faithful, it was a dream come true to DJ at their new home!

Not only was the club impressive in size and location, complete with several buffet options for food, a massive bar in the center, 49er portraits and memorabilia throughout, but when guests walked to the outdoor patio area they were field level, just steps from the 50 yard line! There were guided 45 minute tours of the stadium leaving every 15 minutes, and the whole night we were treated to an endless loop of 49er highlights on dozens of flat screens overhead.

Getting the night started
As far as our set-up, we kept our reach to one side of the club designated as the dancefloor. That way our sound wasn't overbearing, and if guests preferred to have a quieter space for conversation, it was available. We placed uplights on the four corners of the dancefloor, and our light trees we mounted above our speakers. Folks were finishing dinner and ready to dance shortly after 8, so we turned on the lights and turned up the music!

The guests were not just from the bay area, there was a good part of the group in from Chicago as well, who were quite vocal about things when we turned on "California Love". So we made sure to appease them with some Kanye and Jeremih hits later in the evening. One thing is for sure, they really loved to dance! We had requests from covering everything from Bollywood, EDM, Funk, Latin to Taylor Swift. As always I did my best to honor their requests and keep the energy and mix smooth, challenging but fun!

Before I go, I just wanted to give a shout out to this guy in the purple shirt above, his name is Guga (Goo-gah). He was ready to dance from the moment he walked in, to be honest he was on the dancefloor a good half-hour before anyone else. When we reached our last song, the floor was still full and he convinced the crowd to cheer us on for one more song. We luckily had the time to oblige him, it was a great way to end the night!
Go Guga!
A big thank you to Cindy Zver, CMP who was the point of contact for all the pre-planning, night-of organization and making sure I was in contact with the right people. Also to Leila and especially Ariana from AlignTech who initially reached out to me regarding this event. I would also like to thank Lauren Hall, CMP from the 49ers Stadium Management Company, and all the staff that helped us out. We were attended to for every need, from pre-planning schematics, load-in/load-out (yay golf cart rides!), tour schedules, security, electrical tech, and food too! Things could not have gone smoother, every detail was taken care of and most of all the guests got to cut loose and dance the night away.

This is one happy DJ!
